Tom Andersen has been active in the insurance business for over forty years. After earning a B.A. Degree in Economics from the University of Denver, Tom began his insurance career as an underwriter, specializing in Marine and Aviation, with INA (now ACE) and CNA MOAC. In 1977, Tom moved to Miami to become a third generation insurance broker. After numerous successful years as a broker with two international firms, Tom Andersen decided to found his own brokerage firm—Southeast Insurance Brokerage Company.
Mr. Andersen’s current and former clients include Carnival Cruise Lines, Komatzu Latin America, Embraer Aircraft, Southern Air Transport, SunCruz Casinos, as well as the Port of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Tom Andersen has expertise in handling claims: the Fine Air Crash in 1997 and Chalk’s International Airline crash in 2006—over $60 million dollars was paid in insurance claims for each of these aviation disasters.
As the owner and founder of Southeast Insurance, Tom Andersen oversees the daily operations. He assists clients in selecting appropriate coverages and adjusting claims that ensue on insurance policies and programs placed with Southeast Insurance Brokerage, Co.
